What does it mean to call ourselves a Christian? Really, think about it, what does “Christianity” really resemble? By looking at the world, it would seem as if being a “Christian” only means we believe Jesus Christ was God’s son who died for us so that we might live, right?
Being a Christian means we live a life like Jesus Christ lived, we act like Jesus acted, we believe what Jesus believed and we stand on the Word of God the way Jesus did as best we can.
So, why is it so few Christians look anything like Jesus?
I believe this issues stems from the fact that very few, like, HARDLY ANY, Christians actually know the Word of God, and if we don’t know the Word of God then we can’t possibly truly know the fruition of the Word, which is Jesus (John 1:1).
I stand amazed, and daily disappointed, at the MASSIVE amount of Christians who believe that living a “Christian” life includes not treating people like trash and (nowadays) watching a 90 minute sermon once a week while wearing pajamas and drinking coffee from our living rooms.
Christians feel good about ourselves when we give away 10% and when we attempt to live by the “golden rule”. We feel we are fulfilling our duties as Christians when we say a 30 second prayer before dinner, wear a cross around our necks, can, almost, quote the Lord’s prayer and when our pastor knows us by name.
We walk around with a sense of superiority because we are going to heaven yet we, the 99%, do nothing to positively impact the earth yet we say we are living a life after a man who changed the world more in his three years of ministry than all the rest of humanity in all of history combined.
Churches have become corrupt just like the world. We look, act, react, talk, dress, believe just like everyone else. We have eliminated holiness, belittled purity, corrupted covenant and have removed God from the podium all because we are too afraid to stand on the Word of God primarily because we don’t know the Word of God.
If you don’t believe me, look at all the churches whose doors have remained closed for over a year.
-“Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing.” -Hebrews 10:25
If you don’t believe me, look at all the churches who require congregations to wear masks.
-“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” -Isaiah 54:17
If you don’t believe me, look at all the Christians living in total and complete fear.
-“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” -2 Timothy 1:7
If you don’t believe me, look at all the Pastors who refuse to shake hands or pray for their congregations due to “social distancing” requirements.
-“Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” -James 5:14
If you don’t believe me, look at all the churches accepting the modern-day view on marriage because “love is love” (no, love is truth).
-“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” -Genesis 2:24
If you don’t believe me, look at all the Christians rushing to get a vaccine to protect them.
-“But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” -2 Thessalonians 3:3
If you don’t believe me, look at the all the Churches who are silent regarding abortion.
-“If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” -James 4:17
If you don’t believe me, look at all the Pastors so willing to adapt to the ways of the world, relinquishing the ways of the Word.
-“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” -1 John 2:15
If you don’t believe me, look at all the Churches refusing to stand for righteousness, fight against ungodliness, accepting unholiness and promoting faithlessness because they desire to “fit in”.
-“And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” -Matthew 10:22
I could go on and on but the more I write the more upset I become.
Since the very beginning, I have been transparent on my religious views on COVID (Do We Know Who Our God Is? & Symbol Of Submission), I have been outspoken about my frustration towards pastors being weak and not leading their sheep in the right direction (PASTORS RISE UP!), I have never shied away from calling out my fellow Christian brothers and sisters (Why Are There So Many Dead Christians?), but right now I am just so frustrated at the lack of Christians who truly know the Word.
I am done with the reasoning.
I do not live in fear, I do not need man to heal me, I do not need science to protect me, I do not need government to tell me what to do and I do not need other Christians to look down on me because I live my life like I actually do know who my God is.
Do what you want, wear what you want, live how you want, but if you are going to call yourself a Christian, understand what being a Christian really is.
Christ lived fearlessly.
Christ lived righteously.
Christ lived humbly.
Christ lived powerfully.
Christ lived freely.
Christ lived purely.
Christ lived holy.
Christ lived boldly.
If we are not living the same, or at least trying to live the same, can we really call ourselves Christians?
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” -Matthew 28:18-20
