As A Christian, There Is No Choice

Although I have never shied away from my support for Donald Trump since he first took the debate stage in 2015, in public, I often state my reasoning for such support is due to his policies. I am a “build the wall”, help our veterans, pro-school choice, pro-fracking, and imposing tariffs on Chinese goods kind of gal, so my promotions of the man should be expected.

But, what I do not discuss as often when talking about politics to a friend or a neighbor is my support for Donald Trump due to my Christian faith. Many Christians refuse to support Trump due to their disdain for his personality. Such Christians desire someone who speaks correctly, never ruffles feathers and solely sticks to the talking points. They want someone who is presidential in character and eloquent in tongue.

That, clearly, is not Donald J. Trump.

For years, we have allowed such reasoning to go unquestioned. Christians, such as myself, have defended Trump’s policies but have listened as fellow Christians expressed their frustration towards the man due to his personality, his posts online, that rude thing he said two decades ago, or the insult he threw during a debate, resulting in their refusal to vote for him.

But, this election, such frustrations are no longer a valid excuse for Christians not to support Donald Trump for President in 2024.

Why? Because it is truly unacceptable for any God-fearing, Bible believing Chrisitan to vote for the Democrat nominee.

I can already see the eye rolling, cringing, and hear the huffs and puffs from holier-than-thou Christians at such a statement.

But, it is true, and allow me to tell you why.

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” -Jeremiah 1:5

The topic of abortion has increasingly become one of division, even among Christians. I know many Christians support abortions up to a certain week, but what about late term abortion? What about when a baby can feel pain and experience emotions such as fear within the womb? At what point will Christians draw a line in the sand and say “ENOUGH!”

As a U.S. senator, Kamala Harris co-sponsored legislation that would block any state from placing limits on abortion and effectively mandate all-trimester abortion without limits. Harris’s running mate, Governor Tim Walz, signed a law to remove all limits on abortion at any point in pregnancy in Minnesota.

Regardless of where you are on the pro or anti-abortion spectrum, every Christian should be able to admit that Harris and Walz’s views on the subject are overwhelmingly extreme and do not, in any way, align with God’s view of life.

“God created mankind in his own image…male and female he created them.” -Genesis 1:27

The trans movement has gained immense attention the past couple of years. It has become popular for women to claim themselves as men, and for men to compete in women’s sports. We have normalized the ideology that if you don’t “feel” right in your body, surgery and medication can fix you.

What a lie.

God is not the author of confusion, but of peace (1 Cor. 14:33). If something is causing turmoil and massive confusion in your life, it does not come from God, and we, as the body of Christ, should not be promoting and endorsing such principles.

Kamala Harris has always been proud of her support for transitional surgery, even touting she, “pushed the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to provide gender transition surgery to state inmates,” claiming, “transition treatment is a medical necessity.”

Tim Walz signed an executive order that turned Minnesota into a sanctuary state for “gender-diverse” people to attain gender-affirming medical care. The law also, “gives courts the ability to resolve disputes when parents disagree on whether their child should receive gender-affirming care.”

Even if you believe adults who feel they are “in the wrong body” should be encouraged to seek transitional care, you must be able to see the importance of protecting children from the influence of such confusing thought and to respect the relationship between parent and child.

God did not create humanity to be clouded about factual truths, such as gender, and it is our duty, as the hands and feet of Jesus, to speak Biblical TRUTH and to stand against the onslaught of such harmful beliefs.

“You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” -Galatians 5:13

We as Americans are so fortunate to be living in the land of the free. Because of this, we get to experience religious freedom, regardless of who we decide to serve. Our founding fathers believed in religious freedom so much that they discussed it in the very First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.

As a Senator in 2018, Harris sponsored the “Do No Harm Act”. Among many things, the bill would have stripped the rights of religious health-care workers, demanding they perform procedures, like abortions, even when it violated their religious beliefs.

In 2023, Governor Walz passed a bill that, “prohibits employers from discussing religious or political matters at required meetings…[Walz] bragged about the impact of the new law, saying that employers will either have to toe the line or be sent to jail.”

Thank God we live in a country of freedom, where we can discuss our beliefs without fear of retribution and can work in an environment that respects our religious views.

God is a gentleman, He never forces Himself on anyone and loves us enough to allow us to choose to follow Him or not, and we, as Christians, never impose our beliefs on those around us. To vote for an official who wants to strip our rights to practice our faith as we see fit, or even discuss our beliefs freely, is to truly vote against the very foundation of what God desired this country to be.

“For you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you [Israel] to be his treasured possession.” -Deuteronomy 14:2

In October of last year, Israel experienced extreme and unspeakable horrors as Hamas-led militant groups attacked Israeli civilians.

Kamala sent a loud message regarding her views on Israel by skipping Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech to Congress in July.

Now is not the time to play politics and attempt to appease both sides of this war.

The Bible is filled with God’s love for His people, for Israel. As a Christian, we must choose a leader who will be unashamed and outspoken of their support for our ally.

I believe this election is not about republican versus democrat, but rather about light versus darkness, truth versus lies. We CAN NOT afford to vote on personality, we MUST, as Christians, vote for the candidate who most aligns with the Word of God.

If nothing else, vote AGAINST the individual who has already passed policies that adamantly go against Biblical truths.

It is not a difficult decision to make.

Nobody is going to argue that Donald Trump always says the right things or acts the right way. But, it has become increasingly clear that Trump’s policies and positions do, in fact, best align with the Lord’s desires for this country.

If you are a Christian, I implore you to do your research and ask yourself if an individual’s personality outweighs policy.

Now is the time to seek the voice of God, to ask for discernment, then to be bold when the answer is given.

If you make a decision to vote Biblical truths, then you will realize there really is no decision to be made.

Christians for Trump 2024.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
-Matthew 6:33

  1. Well said. My heart breaks over all the people who call themselves Christian but plan to vote Democrat. I saw a woman a couple weeks ago with a T-shirt “Christians for Kamala” I literally had to bite my tongue to not say “you better check your salvation.”

I didn’t, knew I shouldn’t, but it was the first thing that popped into my head. I don’t understand them. I just don’t understand them. I guess there are far too many who have never actually read the Bible and only get a verse or two once a week when the preacher is talking. Or, I wonder who is blinding them, the devil or the Lord? All we can do is pray for them and keep speaking truth.

    God bless you!
