BLM Burning Bibles

This morning, I read an incredible post by Mario Murillo about a BLM/Antifa protest in Portland where they began to burn a stack of bibles.

My bible is my life source. It is not just a book filled with random verses and passages, or a history lesson discussing where my heritage came from, or random stories discussing people I don’t know.

My bible is the guide to my eternal salvation, it is the doorway to me learning about peace, health, success, overcoming. It is Jesus’ voice here on earth, God’s testimony for my life, the Holy Spirit speaking to me through words written long ago yet still moving. It is joy in the midst of mourning, light when all I see is darkness, calm when I’m surrounded by chaos and peace in the middle of a battle. My bible is not just a book, my bible is my guide through life.

Without it, I would be lost.

I understand how the majority view BLM, and many see Antifa, as a group of individuals standing against racism, hate and fascism. This belief could not be farther from the truth.  These groups, although hiding under the guise of “justice”, “anti-hate” and “anti-racism”, are coming after YOU. If you are a Christian, if you stand for freedom, if you believe in democracy, if you are proud of your American heritage, you are a target for these groups.

I am not racist, fascist, sexist, or any other term these groups say they are standing against, but I am a Christian, which means I am a target, and because I am a Christian I cannot and will not stay silent in regards to the evil that is working behind the scenes.

Christians, we must wake up to what is happening. We must stand firm on the Word of God and refuse to bend, to sway, to buckle. We must be like Daniel worshiping with his windows wide open, Esther walking before the King, Deborah leading the army of men, David standing before Goliath, Paul speaking to the masses, and Jesus refusing to stop spreading the Truth regardless of the hate, belittlement, push-back and criticism He received.

To burn a bible, is to hate a bible.

To burn a bible is to detest the Truth that flows out of the Word.

To burn a bible is a deceleration, a warning, to Christians. In this warning we are being told, “stand down, shut-up, and move aside, for if you don’t, we will come after you.”

My heart aches for the Words that were burned, for the truth that is being abused, for the many people who died so that we could read that book they so carelessly set ablaze.

But, beyond the hurt is a relentlessness that I will not relinquish. I will continue to speak the truth regardless of the hate I may receive. I will continue to stand regardless of the target my standing may place upon my back.

My Jesus died for me. He died so His Word could reach me, could reach you and every other longing soul.

This burning of bibles is declaration of war on Christians.

This Christian hears the declaration.

I do not shy away from it, I do not fear it and I do not run from it. Rather, I am picking up my shield of faith and placing the helmet of salvation upon my head. The sword of the Spirit is now within my hand and the belt of truth fit securely around my waste.

Devil, you have awakened this woman of war and she is ready to roar.

Watch out, here I come, and I know I am not coming alone.

Remnant, rise up!

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

-Ephesians 6:10-18

I am a woman standing on the Word, believing in its infallibility and knowing I am all that God says I am.
