If You Give The Devil An Inch

There is a children’s book called “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”. In it, it says, “if you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to want a glass of milk”. The story goes on and on with the mouse wanting more and more until finally he has taken over the entire house. My whole life my mom has compared that little mouse to the devil, and it wasn’t until recently that I fully see what she means.

If you give the devil an inch in your life, he’s going to ask for two. If you give him two, he’s going to come after four. If you give him four, he’s going to demand a foot. On and on he will go until the devil finally has what he wants; your entire life.

This does not only apply to our personal lives, but also to our families, communities, societies and countries. We, as a society, have given the mouse a cookie, a glass of milk, a blanket, a room, a floor and now he is coming after the entire house.

We have normalized the abnormal, made excuses for bad behavior and not called out sin, and now we are reaping the harvest of it. We have opened the door to the mouse who is now wreaking havoc on our towns, communities and country.

What do I mean?

Well, we have allowed Antifa to come into our cities and towns, causing mayhem, mischief and violence wherever they go.

We have turned a blind eye to the aggression of BLM because we don’t want to come across as “racist”, regardless of the fact that the organization, at its core, has very little to do with helping the black population (literally, go to their website and read what they believe).

We have demonized the republican party, elevated the democratic agenda and made socialism sound like the answer.

We have stopped demanding justice for the women and children harmed by demonic people like Jeffrey Epstein.

We ignore abnormal, selfish and ungodly behavior of celebrities, follow them on social media, watch their films and listen to their advice as if it’s doctrine because they are popular and beautiful.

We call ourselves Christians but live lives that look nothing like Christ.

We literally believe closing churches is the “moral” thing to do, regardless of the fact suicide hotlines are up 600%, alcoholism is through the roof and domestic violence and child abuse are at all time highs.  WE NEED JESUS!

We look to experts instead of God.

We turn to the world rather than the Word.

We listen to media instead of the Spirit.

And somehow, we are surprised that our world has been lit on fire.

WAKE UP! We didn’t tell the mouse to get the heck out of our country so now he’s taking over, room by room and floor by floor.  

If we are going to get through this time of chaos, we, the church, the body, the Remnant, are going to have to step up and kick the enemy out.

Out of our homes.

Our of our families.

Out of our schools.

Out of our towns.

Out of our communities.

Out of our political offices.

Out of our country.

The mouse has lit the world on fire and is knocking at your door. What are you going to do about it?
