Enmity Between Thee

Yesterday, I read a story, which had an accompanying video, of a young female volleyball player who was seriously injured by a male transgender competitor during a volleyball match. The girl suffered, “severe head and neck injuries, resulting in long-term concussion symptoms, including vision problems.” This story hit home seeing as volleyball was a major part of my life for over a decade.

Volleyball, like sports for many people, was everything to me at one point in time. I lived, breathed, dreamed the sport, resulting in a full-ride Division I college scholarship. Post-college, I coached for a Division III University while achieving my master’s degree. To say volleyball was a big part of my life would be an understatement. The sport was a major aspect of my very identity for years.

I once wrote a post about not giving the devil one inch in your life, because when we give the enemy an inch he is never satisfied, he wants more, and more, and more until he controls every aspect of our lives. I believe this is exactly what we are seeing in regards to the devil consistently, and successfully, attacking women.

It is no secret the devil hates women. He has even become so tricky that he has achieved in getting many women to hate, detest and fight against the single most incredible thing about being female, the opportunity to bring forth life. But, that’s another post for another time.

The devil has belittled, mocked and demeaned women for generations, but his new goal is to eliminate the individuality of the gender all together. It is now commonplace for biological men to wear dresses, put on makeup, change the pitch of their voices, and call themselves “woman”, and society seems all too happy to comply with this mental health disorder infiltrating every aspect of our world.

Over a year ago, when the NCAA was deciding if they should agree to allow biological men to compete in women’s sports, I made a comment to one of my college teammates about the ridiculousness of this discussion, stating, “girls could get hurt if this happens”. Well, here we are, a young girl has been injured, and volleyball isn’t even a contact sport!

The issue with the decision to allow sexually confused individuals to compete against players of the opposite sex didn’t start with sports, it started with normalizing the issue overall. When we normalize the devil’s attacks, we struggle to fight against them.

I will never understand how so many believe it is compassionate to mutilate a man or woman’s body in order to “help” them achieve the false image they have in their minds of who and what they are. I will never understand how society has so quickly accepted Body Dysmorphic Disorder and sexual confusion as a norm in our schools, towns, cities and sports. I will never understand how this false doctrine has been pushed on us to such an extreme that if you don’t believe it, you are now a fascist. But, I do understand the devil desperately wants to keep people trapped in his lies.

To tell someone they can do, be, become whatever they feel seems like compassion, but it is a lie. Feelings and faith often oppose one another, but the enemy has told us that if we feel it, we can become it. The Lord tells us if the Word says it, therefore it is true. We have to remain grounded in the Word of God, or our feelings will take us down dangerous paths.

The world has become caught up in feelings and false facts, resulting in great confusion and manipulation. This is why biological men are allowed to compete against biological women and this is why women are quickly losing their individuality.

God made women to be different than men, to have their own strengths, their own weaknesses and their own unique distinctiveness. To eliminate those differences is dangerous, at many different levels.

This battle goes far beyond sports, it is a battle for the very importance, uniqueness and distinctiveness of women. To say anyone can become a woman is a lie and one we need to be standing against. Eve was the first person in all history to call the devil what he was-a deceiver (Genesis 3:13), which resulted in the Lord declaring, “I will put enmity between thee (satan) and the woman” (Genesis 3:15). We have known since the beginning that the devil has a strong hatred for women, so what better way for him to attack us than to eliminate us?

Remnant, we must stand firm in declaring the Truth of God and never become caught up in the lies of the enemy, lies the world is far too eager to accept.

Women, never release your individuality, individuality given to us by God Himself. It is a beautiful thing to be a woman, to have the opportunity to bring forth a new generation, to comfort and counsel, to see things in a way only women can, to perceive as only a woman can, and to rely on the strength of femininity that accompanies us at birth.

The transgender push is simply another way for the devil to attack the Truth of God and to eliminate the beautiful and God-given differences between genders.

Fortunately, women all over the world are calling the enemy a deceiver once again. We will not allow him to succeed in remaining hidden behind his lies, just as Eve didn’t allow it in the garden.

“She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.”
-Proverbs 31:20-21

I am a woman standing on the Word, believing in its infallibility and knowing I am all that God says I am.
