It’s been several weeks since I’ve written anything, but this morning I felt inspired to finally pull out my laptop and write what God has placed on my heart.
While praying for the Remnant I saw a camp with soldiers resting throughout. Some were sitting up, others were laying down, but it was clear everyone within the camp was recovering from an exhausting battle.
I then saw a Captain begin to walk throughout the camp and tell the soldiers that the time of recuperation was about to end and they were going to be sent back into the fight, for the battle was still raging not far away.
I then thought of Joshua. Right in the beginning of the book God tells Joshua,
“My servant Moses is dead; now, therefore, arise.” -Joshua 1:2
Joshua and all of Israel were in mourning, they had just lost their leader, a man they had looked to for over 40 years to guide and direct their every step, yet God did not give them time to press into their sadness, rather He told them to keep moving forward.
Not long after going into the promise land, Israel was defeated by the men of Ai even though they were the greater army. Joshua fell to his knees and inquired of the Lord what they should do and how did God answer him?
“GET THEE UP” -Joshua 7:10
God told Joshua to get off his face, stop praying then gave him direction on how to cleanse the Israelites from their sin in order to win the war.
I believe God is moving among His people, His Remnant, and telling us to ARISE, GET UP and get ready to MOVE FORWARD. The time of mourning, of sadness, of disappointment, of anxiety and of grief has come to an end and now we must go back to the fight. We have seemingly lost the battle, but the war is still to be won.
There is an anticipation and excitement within my Spirit yet I don’t know why. I don’t know where this eagerness is coming from because in the natural it seems as if things are only getting darker, but I believe God is moving among us, picking us up, dusting us off, adjusting our armor, sharpening our swords in order to send us out again.
God has a plan for His people and it is not to go silently into the night. His purpose for His children has not changed, His call on our lives has not been diminished. God has been cleansing us, separating His sheep from the wolves, He has been dividing His true followers from those who never truly knew Him. He has collected His army in a safe place, allowed them a brief time of rest and is now walking among them and commanding them to line up shoulder to shoulder in order to march forward together into our destiny.
So, whoever you are, wherever you are, know you are not alone in your feelings of uncertainty but also know that we are only getting started, God is just beginning His mighty work throughout the earth.
God’s people have been given a brief time to rest, to reflect, to mourn, to question, but that time is coming to an end. Our Captain is moving throughout our camp and giving us new commands to get up, dust off and get ready to go back in.
Remnant, get thee up, we are only getting started!
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” -Isaiah 43:19
