Like The Lion

“An army of sheep led by a lion will always defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.” -Dr. Myles Monroe

The Lord refers to Himself as two animals within the Word, the Eagle, king of the air, and the Lion, king of the land. Since God is within us, we can view ourselves as both.

I once saw a video of a lion and a crocodile having a standoff. The crocodile was threatening to come out of the water and steal the lion’s food, the lion stood his ground and roared. This went back and forth for several minutes before the crocodile eventually slunk back into the water and disappeared.

What is most interesting about this interaction is that a lion’s bite is 600 pound-force per square inch (PSI), a crocodile’s bite is 5,000 PSI. In reality, the crocodile could have destroyed the lion, but that didn’t matter to the lion, the lion knew who he was and what he was capable of, the crocodile did not.

Several years ago, the Lord ended a Word to me with, “Like the lion, let your roar be heard throughout the land”. This started my captivation for these big cats. What I find fascinating is that I am not alone in my captivation. Over the past year, I have seen many preachers, speakers and bloggers, primarily female, use the lion as a symbol they discuss throughout their speeches, posts or testimonies.

I believe God is trying to tell us something.

It does not matter how big we are, it does not matter how strong we are, it does not matter how beautiful we are, it does not matter how smart we are, all that matters is that we know who we are and the only way to truly know who we are is to know who our God is.

Like the lion, who is not the biggest, strongest or fastest, we must release all our physical and economic limitations and begin to see ourselves as more than conquerors (Romans 8:37).

I believe we are about to walk into the most intense and unique time since Jesus walked the earth. I believe we are going to witness miracles like we have never seen, hear testimonies like we could only imagine and be used by the Lord like we could only dream of, but we will never get there if we continue to see ourselves through the eyes of the world.

God is using the symbol of the lion not because he is “king of the jungle” but because he BELIEVES he is king of the jungle. The lion never goes up against an enemy he does not believe he can defeat, the lion never sees an obstacle he does not believe he can overcome and the lion never backs down from an opponent who is coming to take what rightfully belongs to him.

The Lord is trying to tell us, you and me and all the rest of the Remnant, that we have everything within us we need in order to go into this final battle.

You are a lion. You may not be the biggest, fastest or strongest but that doesn’t matter one bit, all that matters is that you see yourself through the eyes of the Creator because in His eyes you ARE the biggest, you ARE the fastest and you ARE the strongest.

It is time for the Remnant to rise up and take our place as leaders within our societies, towns, communities, schools, offices, homes and churches. It is time for the Children of God to begin to see themselves as sons and daughters of the Creator of the universe, as children of the King, as servants of the Most High Lord.

We have been viewing ourselves like a crocodile for too long, big teeth and a big bite but not fully knowing our potential, our power, our authority our strength and our ability. It is time to think like a lion and look at every enemy as nothing more than an annoyance standing in the way of what belongs to us.

Healing belongs to us, financial liberty belongs to us, joy belongs to us, peace belongs to us, prosperity belongs to us, anything and anyone that tells us otherwise is a lie.

The devil has taken too much from too many and it is time we put an end to his games.

WE have the authority but we will only begin to see the manifestation of that authority once we start BELIEVING it belongs to us.

So, like the lion, view yourself as the champion of every obstacle that attempts to come against you. Victory is before you because your God goes before you (Deuteronomy 20:4), strength is within you because your God is in you (2 Corinthians 13:5), the devils knows this and will flee from you (James 4:7) if you only begin to see yourself the way you were created to be!

“Behold, the people shall rise up as a great lion, and lift up himself as a young lion: he shall not lie down until he eat of the prey.” -Numbers 23:24
