Women Under Attack

As a former NCAA DI FEMALE College athlete, I am angered, disgusted and extremely disheartened at what occurred yesterday with former Kentucky swimmer and female activist Riley Gaines. Riley was attacked and assaulted by a man in a dress following her “Save Women’s Sports” speech, then bombarded by a mob screaming “trans women are women”. Police rushed Riley into a room, where she waited for hours while the angry mob discussed how much she would have to pay to be released.

The world has normalized mental health disorders to such an extent that the people in that mob truly believed Riley was an enemy that deserved to be destroyed.

So many thoughts rush through my mind when I think of Riley. I remember when I was battling for a college scholarship, playing against some of the greatest female athletes in the country. I remember how hard it was to stand out in a crowd of amazing women competitors, hoping, praying, college scouts would stop by our court to watch me play. But, I also remember watching the men compete and knowing there was no way any of our female teams, no matter how incredible, tall, strong, or tough we were, would be able to successfully challenge them. They were taller and stronger, they jumped higher, hit harder, and moved so much faster I remember telling a teammate “it doesn’t even look they are playing the same sport as the women”.  

Riley understands this. She knows the biological differences between men and women, has seen it every time she trains, lifts weights, runs, sprints, and swims. Yet, her simply pointing out these differences has placed her in a position where she is somehow a threat to society and one that many believe deserves to be attacked.

As angry as I am, I know this is all spiritual. The demonic spirit calling itself “trans” has weaseled its way into our society and tainted the minds of politicians, pastors, coaches and citizens. We are seeing the devil successfully belittling, mocking, and “canceling” women once again. This is far beyond men competing in women’s sports, this is about the enemy rearing his ugly head and attempting to destroy the female gender.

When I watch that video of Riley surrounded by police ushering her into a corner and listen to the voices of the mob screaming at her, I feel sad. Sad that so many believe the lies the devil is telling them, sad that young children and teens are being fed foundational untruths, and sad that a young woman simply stating facts is treated like a criminal. It’s hard to believe this is where we are in our society.

God created MAN and WOMAN (Gen 1:27). In the beginning, He made them MALE and FEMALE (Matt 19:4). God HONORED and ELEVATED women to the greatest degree by choosing WOMEN to be the gender to carry on humanity. God does not make mistakes.

Fortunately, we know God is not the author of confusion (1 Cor 14:33s), therefore we know this demonic trans spirit, which confuses and manipulates, is from the devil.

Women, do not be intimidated, scared, influenced, or threatened. God created us to be unique, individual, beautiful, strong, intelligent and significant. The more the devil tries to silence us, the louder we will be. God has not given us the spirit of fear, but POWER (2 Tim 1:7). We have authority over this attack, but we must stand strong and let our voices be heard.

Do not be silent, speak boldly for you are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image (Psalm 139:14).

Together, we will silence this demonic spirit and put a stop to the confusion and manipulation. Together, we will show the world the truth, beauty, and strength that comes from being “woman”.
