Rejoice

When the world presses in around me, puts walls in front of me, behind me and all around me, I believe the Lord is about to bust down the surrounding barricade.

When I feel least like worshiping is when I will worship the most for I know my worship will usher in the blessing. It doesn’t matter what my feelings tell me because feelings are not facts and are often in opposition of faith. The only truth I have to hold on to are the promises from God.

The Lord knew the only way for the wall of Jericho to fall was if His people raised up their voices and shouted in the victory that had not yet come. He opened the door, but they had to walk through. In order for them to make it to the other side they had to celebrate, regardless of the massive barrier standing in their way, physically showing them victory was impossible. Their celebration, their voices of expectant triumph, brought the walls down.

So, when you feel like giving up, walking away, allowing your emotions to dictate your attitude, when it seems as if everyone and everything is turning against you, open your mouth and allow a worship to leave your lips and be lifted up to heaven.

When you feel depressed, angry, heartbroken, confused, hurt, sick, afraid, anything else the world puts on you, lift your voice to your Father and thank Him for everything He has done for you and the things He is about to do for you.

Do not let go of hope, for faith is the hope for things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1). So, if you see it you don’t need faith to achieve it, and God is activated by faith.

If you are in an impossible situation, get excited, that’s God specialty, He excels in the impossible. God gets to show who He is within the impossibility.

By parting the Red Sea God showed everyone He had authority over every thing.

By closing the mouths of the lions God portrayed His power over every creature.

By cleansing the leper, opening blind eyes and unblocking deaf ears, God proved no sickness or disease could withstand His touch.

By taking down the walls of Jericho God displayed His ability to do whatever was necessary in order to get His people where they needed to go.

You are no exception. God will do whatever He has to do, move every mountain, lift every valley, dry up every ocean, quench every fire and break down every door in order to get you where you need to go.

He will do His part, but you have to do yours.

Open your mouth and glorify your Lord. Life up a praise to Heaven so loud it would seem as if your blessing has already broken through. Celebrate like the Israelites celebrated behind barricades they had no way of knowing would actually fall down other than a promise from God.

Your blessing is on the other side of that barrier, but you have to rejoice in order to bring the walls down.

“So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.” -Joshua 6:20
