There are times in life when it seems as if the world is standing still and I’m no longer moving forward, as if everyone around me is living and I’m just existing, when every desire seems to remain unfulfilled and my prayers are going unheard.
In those moment, I must remind myself who my God is.
My God is the creator of the universe. He spoke the world into existence. He taught the sun how to shine, the wind how to sing and the trees how to dance.
My God formed man out of His own image because He believed man was worthy of being like Him, looking like Him, talking like Him, walking as He does and interacting as only His image could.
My God sees all things; therefore, He is never worried about the outcome because He knows how to get me to victory.
My God knew me long before He formed me. He set me apart for this time and this season, for this day and this hour. He created me to be the woman I am daily becoming and urges me to take on His mantle, to release the garment I once wore and clothe myself in His attire.
My God sees my life, from beginning to end, therefore what do I have to fear from life? If my God sees it all, it is all taken care of. Every mountain will be conquered, every valley crossed, every ocean overcome, every difficulty defeated and every battle won.
My God has created a portrait of my life and is looking at it all at once. Though I only see the portion I am currently in, my God is able to see how this dark spot will eventually blend with the light and how, together, they create the most beautiful stroke.
My God knows my name. He knows me individually, personally. He knows me as a daughter, a fighter, a servant, a warrior and a friend.
My God speaks to me in the midst of the silence. In the middle of the chaos He whispers my name.
My God sees me when I feel invisible, hears me when I feel mute, clothes me when I feel naked, smiles at me when I feel unworthy and loves me when I feel unlovable.
My God is there for me when I wake and stays beside me when I sleep. He is there for me at all times, regardless of if I feel Him or not, He is always there.
My God is the stillness in the storm, the cool in the heat, the warmth in the cold, the shadow in the glare, the day breaking through the night, the air beneath the waters.
My God loves me though there are so many times I don’t deserve His love. He pours it out to me even though, more often than I wish to admit, I reject that love, deny it and even run from it. His love never fails to be there when I need it.
My God has been hurt for me, He took lashes from a whip that was meant for me, yet He endured the beating.
My God walked towards death for me, hung on a cross He didn’t deserve because of His love for me.
My God crossed over the realms and walked through hell so I would never have to. When there seemed to be no way, He made a way for me to be with Him for all eternity.
My God loves me beyond my ability to understand or even comprehend. He sees me for all of me, my faults, my sins, my flaws, He sees it all, yet He still adores me unlike any other could.
My God stands beside me in the middle of a storm, goes before me in the midst of a battle. He speaks to me when I need to hear His voice and holds me when I need to feel His presence.
My God is my healing, my strength, my peace, my prosperity, my joy. He is the love of my life, there is none in comparison to Him. He is my all in all, my one and only. It is impossible to truly describe all my God is to me for my God is simply everything. The air that fills my lungs, the food that nourishes my body, the music that fills my ears, the sun that warms me, the breeze that cools me, the love that consumes me, My God is all of it.
There is no other God that is capable of being all these things, able to fulfill me as He does. I serve a good God, an all-consuming fire, a chain breaker and a devil defeater.
My God is the God of all and though I am unworthy to call myself His, I am His nonetheless.
“I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.” -Isaiah 45:5-6
