Freedom Over Fear And Faith Over Doubt

Before I step onto my soapbox, I want to start this post with a couple statistics and thoughts before I begin my “rant”.

The original U.S. coronavirus death toll prediction was 2.2 million, that number later changed to 240,000 and is now around 70,000. During the 2017-2018 flu season, according to the CDC, an estimated 80,000 people died.  

I am not making light of death in any way. It is terrible so many died from the flu and it is terrible so many have died from the coronavirus, BUT, where was the mass hysteria during the 2017/2018 flu season? Why did politicians and medical experts not blanket the airways with panic, stating the CDC declared the 2017/2018 season as the, “first season to be classified as a high severity across all age groups”?

Why did we react so differently to that health threat then we have to COVID-19?

I’m now stepping onto my soapbox.

What we are witnessing in today’s society are the masses believing in and acting upon a lie.

The coronavirus scenario was fashioned to instill fear, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and doubt.

Doubt and faith are opposites of one another, they cannot coincide. So, when we doubt, which instills fear, we do not have faith, and when we have faith, which instill freedom, we are not doubting.

What we are seeing in this modern day, 21^st century world are multitudes of people grasping onto something that is not stable, is not centered and is not worthy of the chaos it has created.

I am not only talking about the fact that the death toll numbers never even came close to the predictions, because I believe the numbers have been and will continue to be skewed in the favor of the doubt party, but I am also talking about the fact the crowds so willingly and quickly jumped on the fear train.

When we indulge in fear, we can be persuaded to believe nearly anything.

Now, I understand people have died and for those who have lost loved ones to this virus I have nothing but sorrow and apologies. I understand it is nothing to take lightly and is a serious illness if you have underlying health issues.

That being said, since the beginning of “social distancing” there has been a check in my spirit saying, “this just doesn’t seem right”. Now, weeks later, I believe the check was the Holy Spirit telling me, “this truly isn’t right”.

The devil created this virus, no doubt about that, but man has elevated the virus to something it never had the right to become. We have fashioned false feelings of dread, shut down our world, forced people into their homes, barred the doors of churches, removed people from work, refused to allow children to go to school and have potentially ruined our prosperous economy.

I am done.

Done with staying silent about this lie, for IT IS A LIE.

The fear is a lie, the panic is a lie, the obligation to wear gloves is a lie, the forcing of masks is a lie, the predictions have been and will continue to be a lie and it is time for us to stand up and start calling all of this out for what it is: A LIE.

If you are a Christian wearing a mask and gloves out of fear, check yourself because you are allowing the enemy to infiltrate your thinking. (*I understand some wear these things to placate others*)

If you are a Christian and believe the doors of churches need to remain closed, ask yourself why you believe sickness can cross the threshold of God’s house.

If you are a Christian and you allow words to leave your mouth filled with despair, worry, anxiety, doubt and fear, force your lips to remain closed because life and death are in the power of your tongue. (Prov. 18:21)

We are living in a time we in the 21^st century have never known before, but it is not unknown to man. When the plagues hit Egypt, the Israelites didn’t cower, quake, cry or crumble, they stood and kept standing until their freedom came.

Why are we acting so differently to this “plague” than they did?

Why are we allowing this man-made falsehood to control us?

Why are we cowering in our homes rather than worshiping and praying with our brothers and sisters in Christ?

Why are we so quick to follow the guidelines of man and ignore the guidelines of God?

Why? Because we believe man more than we believe God.

We choose to believe that scientists know better than Elohim, Great And Mighty God.

We choose to believe medical doctors can heal us instead of Jehovah Rophe, Lord Our Healer.

We choose to believe man’s predictions know more than El Roi, The Strong One Who Sees.

We choose believe in the chaos shoved at us rather than believing Jehovah Shalom, Lord Our Peace.

We choose to believe vaccines and medicines can guard us better than Jehovah Sabaoth, Lord Our Protector

We believe in those with impressive titles above believing in JESUS, the one who gave us everything so we would have control over anything, Name Above All Names, Savior.

We have bought into a bundle of lies because we haven’t tried to find the truth. Spend time with the Lord and allow HIM to tell you what you need to believe.

I believe we are in a new season, a season we have never been in before. I believe the Lord has used this time to humble His children, to remove waste and sin, to eliminate the things we have hung onto for far too long.

I also believe He has used this season to shake the slumbering spirit from His people and it is now time to come out of our hiding places and begin to proclaim who our God is.

Don’t believe the lie the media is throwing at us every time we turn on the TV, believe the truth of the God you serve.

God never desired His people to be slaves in Egypt, but their slavery led them to desperation and eventually faith and freedom.

God never desired us to be locked in our homes with all norms removed, but He has used this season to make us desperate for Him and to ask ourselves, “do I believe God is who He says He is?”

Be careful who you listen to, who you allow to speak into your life, for we are all held accountable to the counsel we keep.

If we choose to believe the Word far above believing the world, we will soon walk out of this cave created by the world and will be standing in the light of the Word, but we will only get there if we stop listening to man’s lies and start focusing on the Lord’s truth. 

We were not born to live in captivity, fearful of viruses and plagues. We were born to live in freedom, fearless of any and every attack of the enemy.

I don’t know about you, but I reject these lies and choose freedom over fear and faith over doubt.
