I believe there has been a Holy Hindrance put on God’s people. Many of us have felt it, seen it, experienced it for weeks, months, years, even decades. I’m not talking about a hindrance on healings, those we know are God’s promises and cannot be kept at bay when we ask and believe they have been received.
What I’m talking about are situational hindrances-career paths, prophetic words coming to fruition, vision over our lives being shown, doors being opened.
I have personally experienced this in my life for quite some time. I’ve gone before the Lord more times than I can remember, asking Him, “why isn’t the door opening? Why aren’t the answers coming? Why am I still in a place of waiting? Why doesn’t it seem like the Remnant is advancing?”
Recently, when I asked God these questions, I saw Joseph, sitting in prison. Joseph’s two years in prison were not coincidence. God may not have put Joseph there, but God did keep him there until his time of promotion was at its greatest.
Do you think it was coincidence that the baker forgot about Joseph for two years? Why do you think he forgot? Who do you think caused the forgetting? Likewise, who do you think brought Joseph to the forefront of the baker’s mind when Pharaoh needed someone to interpret his dream? It was no small thing for the baker to speak up, but God gave him boldness to speak on Joseph’s behalf to the most powerful man in the world.
If the baker had remembered Joseph at any other point other than at that moment, two years after they last saw one another, Joseph’s elevation would not have been so great, his authority so expansive and his influence so unlimited.
Yesterday, while praying over the Remnant, the word “slamming” came to mind. God is not only closing the wrong doors, they are SLAMMING SHUT. God is not going to allow you, His child, one of His Remnant, to walk through a door He does not desire for you to go through.
The process may be painful, the situation discouraging, but you are not on your own. You belong to the King and He will take you to where He desires you to go. Because of that, it may seem as if all you hear are “no’s”, all you see are closed doors and blocked passages, but rather than finding sorrow in the closed doors, rejoice! Your God is guiding you to the right door at the right time.
While praying for two people that are extremely influential in my life, I asked God why their elevation was still unseen, why the prophetic word given to them so many years ago had not yet come to pass. God answered me, saying:
“Would you have them walk upon a bridge that is not yet sturdy? Walk into a building that had a roof that is not secure? I would not, therefore I do not. I will not allow them to go forth until the timing is right, and they will be safe.”
This word does not only apply to their lives, it belongs to you and me, and everyone else who has felt as if all they do is wait; wait for the breakthrough and the guidance, the elevation and the acceleration.
God is aligning His people in such a way that it is becoming nearly impossible to move off the path He desires for us.
God is slamming doors and causing Holy Hindrances in our lives to make sure we don’t go the wrong direction, walk into the wrong room, take the wrong job, marry the wrong person, sign the wrong contract, move to the wrong place. Nothing is too great, and nothing is too small for God to have His guiding hand in.
He is teaching us that we are His and He is ours, completely.
Allow Him to take control and walk upon the path He places you on. Know that SOON the door will open, the opportunity spring forth.
